pink xmas

There are a couple days left to make that End of Year tax deductable donation donate

We have come a long way over these 40 years. From darkness of non female specific research and words not mentioned in media, to a year round Lobby power of Pink so women are treated specifically and a media that not only shouts but support breast cancer awareness. From no screening until the disease was overly apparent, through the years of too much radiation and compression to the modern digitizing and 3D life saving screening. Saving lives by finding this disease when it is most treatable and survivable. But we have come even further with genetic testing and the ability to treat the various types of breast cancer more specifically. Treatments can be as simple as taking a chemo pill or the knowledge that invasive treatments will offer better results. All that is great and we have worked hard to make sure that insurance doesn't shut anyone out, always making sure there is a way for anyone to be screened and treated if diagnosed. But the RACE is not over and the FINISH LINE has not been crossed. As long as the number of deaths in West Virginia average out to an estimated 6 per week it will not be acceptable.  As long as young women in the very prime of life just entering college, just starting families, just entering the job market not considering what is often seen as a mature woman's disease are struck down at this stage of life, we will not rest.

With the support of our local businesses and YOU we are able to insure there is quality care for all and research toward the cures. With your help we have raised anywhere from $400,000. to $600,000. any year to put to work in West Virginia to support screening and treatment and always our 25% toward research. With but one employee and an army of volunteers we have raised, managed and provided necessary funding to fill gaps in care. With no funding from federal or state programs we raise funds here and provide those funds to your local communities to make the lives of West Virginians survivable and thrivable from this insidious disease.  Your continued support of Breast Cancer Awareness events, Rally events, and most important the WV Race for the Cure largest fundraising 5K in the state makes all the difference in filling gaps in screening and treatment.

We know our numbers are still coming in from the fall activities but we know with approx 70 different activities 13,000 received some form of Breast Cancer Awareness Education during BCAM. Your support also added over $50,000. toward filling gaps in care.
