Point Harmony PAWS for the Cause
This team earned the first WV Komen Race for the Cure School Team Challenge Trophy.
'Competitive spirits and compassionate hearts drove the 2014 "PAWS for the Cause" team at Point Harmony Elementary! Staff members, students,friends and family represented our school as they walked and ran in the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure. Last year hit especially close to home as one of our very own teachers was diagnosed with breast cancer in the spring of 2014. Our specially designed team shirts boasted a discrete "C.C." to honor our fellow staff member, Carla Campbell. Our dedicated team leader, Amy Stone, gave us frequent updates on our team membership and donation totals, even motivating some of us by offering prizes. Ms. Stone's hard work paid off, she recruited a team of 105 members! One hundred five of us walking, running for our mothers, for our grandmothers, aunts, sisters and friends; all united for one cause!'
